hose who know me know I have been on a journey to lose weight. Let’s face it, as we get older, everything changes and gravity shifts things we never had before in our youth. I struggled with just about every diet known to man and had a heavy dose of daily exercise. Nothing worked! I just kept going to the larger section in the clothing store. I have to admit that it started to make me unhappy inside. The unhappier I became, the more weight I seemed to gain. So, I decided to fall in love with me again. I continued to think myself thin and appreciated the weight change in the mirror and in the back of my mind, in the car, out loud to the universe I would shout “I am thin!” “I am beautiful!”. I can honestly tell you that losing weight at any age is not a fun thing to do. You cannot think yourself thin and eat everything in sight. You must make healthy changes if you expect to lose weight. You must do some form of exercise. Walking is the most beneficial mode of exercise which covers just about every possible reason for avoiding exercise.
Eating healthy fresh vegetables, steamed vegetables and grilled foods without the fat, is one of the things I changed in my life. I am also a carboholic. I am a Mexican food addict as well. I found a way to enjoy my Mexican food in a lettuce wrap and every now and then I will dive into a deep fried tortilla filled with the items I love and crave. I have lost 23 1/2 pounds thus far and am working on a new me inside and out. I have to admit, I love the thinner me. However, I was not able to lose the weight as I said until I loved the heavier me.
You need to rock what you have mentally inside and out. Words have power. Thoughts have power. If you put negative thoughts about yourself while looking in a mirror, you will (from my personal experience) yield negative results or like I did…gain weight. I just thought I would share this very personal journey with you and give you the secrets that I have discovered through trial, error, sweat, pain, happiness, sadness and joy. I believe in the power of prayer and the belief in oneself to do whatever you seek to do in life. Think yourself over a hurdle that seems insurmountable. Rock your stuff! If you are heavy, rock it! If you are thin, rock it! Love yourself for you. Once you accept yourself for the beauty within, you will be able to deal with the shell of yourself on the outside. We are all shells in a temporary body. Enjoy the journey.
